We rely on owner’s manuals, tire and brake manufacturers’ technical information, NHTSA tire and brake safety information and reputable automotive references. Tire sizes, pressures, part fitment and repair costs vary by vehicle, brand and region, so always confirm them for your exact car (the tire placard on the driver’s door jamb lists the recommended size and pressure).

Safety first

Tires and brakes are safety parts. Our guides point out warning signs, what you can check yourself and the points where a qualified technician should take over. We do not sell tires or repairs.

Updates and corrections

Articles are reviewed and updated when information changes. Reader corrections are checked and fixed when confirmed.
